Long-Term Running Goals:

Run my whole life, and then live vicariously through my children. (just kidding) , but I do want to pass on a healthy lifestyle to them.

Help coach East High to a state championship. (hope it doesn't take a lifetime!)

Personal:

I've been running since I was nine.  I'm married to a fellow runner who inspires and supports me.  We have two children:  Cole (4) and Lily (18 mos.)  I help Bill Cobler coach cross country at East High School.

I took a few days off of running to see if some rest would help my achilles.  It didn't.  It feels pretty much the same.  So, I'll just keep plugging away, and hopefully get into a doctor soon.

I woke up early to get my run in.  It was cloudy, muggy, and very dark.  There are some spooky places along the river trail.  I forgot my watch, so I don't know what the pace was.  I ran down 4800 to the river trail, to Boullion, and then back.

After I ran, I took the kids to cross country practice.  The high schoolers got soaked.  As I was turning into the park, I hit a garbage can . . . it came out of nowhere!  I knocked the sideview mirror off of my car.  So, it was off to the dealership to get it fixed.  Great morning!

Sorry about the mirror, I was so cold and wet we did not get to talk before you headed out. My challenge for you is to lose the watch for at least a week and run comfortable to feeling lazy, like you aren't even making any improvements from running this slow. Do it for a week. Stay out of the pain threshold and pay attention to slow and easy. Heel strike, no toes and I bet you will be back sooner than you think and will not miss a beat. You got a big half coming that doesn't matter much in the big picture especially if you're injured.
