Short-Term Running Goals:

I would like to run an Olympic Trials Qualifier in the marathon.

I would also like to run on one more international team before I pack it in!

 Stay healthy!  (My biggest challenge!)

Long-Term Running Goals:

Run my whole life, and then live vicariously through my children. (just kidding) , but I do want to pass on a healthy lifestyle to them.

Help coach East High to a state championship. (hope it doesn't take a lifetime!)

Personal:

I've been running since I was nine.  I'm married to a fellow runner who inspires and supports me.  We have two children:  Cole (4) and Lily (18 mos.)  I help Bill Cobler coach cross country at East High School.

I felt like trying a run this morning.  Walking after a marathon is a different story than running after a marathon.  I ran 4 miles in a blazing 8:17 average.  It hurt!  My quads are good, but my hips are so tight and sore.  It felt like my legs couldn't fire. Still, it felt good to get out and run.  There is definitely more recovery ahead.

I think if Pregnant Emily raced Post-Marathon Emily, Pregnant Emily would win.

That would be quite a showdown!

I enjoyed Teren's talk last night. I looked up some old articles about that 10K against Bob Kennedy when I got home. Cool stuff, really inspiring.

It was an amazing race to watch. Teren likes to give me a hard time because I was supposed to run in that race, too. I tore my soleus just a couple of days before. So, while he was having the race of his life, I was busy pouting on the sidelines. I was uh...supportive, but definitely bummed out for myself.
